P.T.S. (PRELIMINARY TRAINING PERIOD 3 MONTHS)
P.T.S. Examination
This is an Internal Examination conducted by the Institute of Nursing after 3 months of intensive study. All students must pass the examination with the minimum of 50% marks in each subject. Progress report will be sent to the parents.
Internal Assessment
This is based on the day performance of the students in the classroom, Practical work in the ward/Community and internal Examination-, Written, Oral and Practical.
Note: 25% of marks of the Annual Nursing Council Examination are added from internal Assessment marks. Candidate has to secure 50% marks in internal assessment in each theory and practical in order to be eligible for P.N.R.C. Examination.
Examination
The examinations of the Punjab Nurses Registration Council are held at the end of First, Second and Third year in the month of September/October every year. The examination for A.N.M. is held at the end of 1st year, three papers- Community Health Nursing, Health Promotion, and Primary Health Care Nursing (Prevention of Disease and restoration of Health are to be conducted and three paper- Child Health Nursing. Midwifery and Health Center management will be conducted after completion of 1.5 years training period. Minimum of 50% marks are required to pass the examination in each subject. Examination fees are to be paid by students as prescribed by Punjab Nurses Registration council. Examination for B.Sc. Nursing Basic & Post Basic are conducted by B.F.U.H.S. in the month of June/July.
Eligibility for Examination
To be eligible for examination, the institution has to certify that the candidate :-
- Has attended not less than 90% of the total classes ( lectures, practical, and field work)
- Has completed the practical training requirements.
- Has record of their practical experience, duly completed and signed by the administrative head of the college.
- Has pursued a regular course of studies.
- Has met the field experience requirements.
Eligibility Criteria for Passing
Total marks required for passing are 50% in aggregate (Internal, External, both theory and practical).
Examination Fees
The student are required to pay the examination fee and other charges (if any) to Punjab Nurses Registration Council for the examination to be conducted by Council or to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Farikot, as the case may be.
Degree / Diploma
On completion of G.N.M. & A.N.M. Training and passing all prescribed examinations, students will receive Diploma in "General Nursing and Midwifery" and Certificate in Auxiliary Nurse an(] Midwifery from the Punjab Nurses Registration council. B.Sc. Nursing Students (both Basic and Post Basic) will get their Degrees from Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Fairdkot. Thereafter, they will have to get themselves registered with the P.N. R.C. Chandigarh & obtain a Registration Certificate for Practice.
Membership Fee of Student Nurses Association (SNA)
Membership fee will be charged as per Council Rules.
